Product Care Guidelines
How to Care for your Handwoven Soft Furnishings
To freshen your product:
We encourage clients to be gentle with their handwoven products to preserve their handmade nature. However when in use, we understand that the products will ultimately need freshening up. As we predominantly use natural fibres in our products, we can say with confidence that a good dose of steam on the reverse of your product will do wonders for reviving their look and feel. They may also be ironed on a low setting on the reverse. Do not dry clean or wash in a washing machine (even on a 'Hand-wash' or 'Wool' settings).
To hand wash your product:
If your handwoven product becomes soiled or is in need of cleaning, we recommend washing your product by hand in lukewarm water (cushion pad removed as applicable). Products should be washed with a small amount of mild soap by gently squishing the product and avoiding too much agitation. Your product should then be rinsed in cool water and gently wrung out by hand before laying flat to dry or rolled in a towel to remove excess water. Iron on the reverse of the handwoven fabric on a low setting once dry. Steam may be used. Do not Dry Clean or wash in a Washing Machine (even on a mild setting).
* For our products containing wool and/or wool roving, please note that although all our products have been pre-washed, felting or shrinkage may still occur. If this happens, we would encourage you to gently use a fabric shaver to eliminate any mild, fuzzy build up (much like you would your favourite woolly jumper!) or in more extreme cases, to gently trim away any unwanted wool strands with scissors, followed by the gentle use of a fabric shaver.
How to Care for your Handwoven Lampshades and Lighting
To freshen your product:
Our handwoven lampshades and lighting should only require light dusting with a feather duster. If your product becomes soiled, please do not wash. Spot clean only with water using a damp cloth.
